Our insect trap with specialized spectrum (black) UV lights will draw moths and flying ants to the insect killer; they shine purple, and this light has been shown to be more appealing to mosquitoes. Most individuals will attract all types of insects; in that case, we recommend adding a Mozzie Attract lure and a Fly Attract Lure (like the Flowtron Mosquito Lure) to your insect killer to broaden its appeal to all insects.

How powerful does your insect killer need to be?

The premium insect killer is manufactured with a large grid capable of exterminating all flying insects that land on it. A higher lamp wattage will attract more insects over a wider area, which shouldn't be an issue for the Micnaron premium insect killer. Our unit features an electrified grid rated at 2800V, making it more suitable for semi-rural/rural settings or suburbs with high insect populations. It will generally cause smaller insects to explode upon contact and reduce the frequency of cleaning the grid.
