This water leak detector is also beneficial for inspections of new homes and home restorations, locating roof leaks, or simply ensuring firewood is ready to burn. It also guarantees the appropriate level of surface dryness before painting, sealing, or treating wood or drywall. The moisture meter is easy to operate: just insert the stainless steel pins into the surface being measured to obtain a reading. The total measurement range is 5 to 50% for wood and 1.5 to 33% for building materials. The backlit, large, easily readable digits and clearly designed LED alerts inform you immediately if the moisture content is high, medium, or low. Additionally, the moisture meter features audible high, medium, and low alerts, allowing you to hear the level even if you are in a dark or difficult-to-see area. Its robust, ergonomic shape and rubber grips make it comfortable to use even for multiple measurements. Each moisture meter also includes a hold function to freeze a reading for later viewing, automatic shut-off, and a low battery indicator. Every package comes with extra 0.3 in. (8mm) stainless steel pins, a protective cover that also serves as a calibration check, and a "9V" battery.
